Can I Get a Woo Woo??

So I have not done this kind of thing for a while so bare with me whilst I get my feet again with the whole blogging malarkey :).. but I am back blogging again and I will be honest, it does feel very strange to sit down at my new desk and write.
I am back doing reviews, however , I will be incorporating more beauty and makeup related content on to my blog. So here I am with my first review.
Now I am a stickler for only using brands I have heard of when it comes to intimate self care products. So when I got the email asking if I wanted to review these products I was honestly a bit dubious about venturing out in to a using a brand I didn’t know, however, I am all about trying new things lately so why not try some new products??
Woo Woo is a brand that wanted to provide products that made women feel confident inside and out. Their aim is to offer a range of products that will make women feel more comfortable in the skin and break the taboo of talking about feminine hygiene.

I was kindly gifted the Woo Woo wipes and the Woo Woo Tame It gel to try out. I have honestly never used any kind of fraganced wipes as I was always told that fragrance can mess with your PH balance and I am not about that thrush life but these are PH balanced wipes.
I received the Cranberry and Aloe Vera wipes and i can honestly say I think I have been converted. It may sound strange but they really do make everything feel more fresh and clean. The scent is not too overpowering and they do make you feel fresh. I will definitely be going out and purchasing myself some of these in different scents. I was left feeling fresh and clean and the best bit is that they don’t affect you PH balance. You can use these without any worries whatsoever.

You ladies will understand how crappy and groggy you can feel when it’s that time of the month but I honestly felt that I using these wipes helped me feel more refreshed and who doesn’t want that?!
The in shower hair removal cream is good but I will say it does have a very strong smell, which I am not a fan a of if I am being completely honest. It does work very well and unlike some other creams I have used it leaves the skin feeling soft. I have sensitive skin and I didn’t have any problems with this. I would recommend if you are looking for a more natural hair removal cream.

RELEASE BLITZ: Unlikely In Love by Susan Nicol

Unlikely In Love by Susan Mac Nicol

Hello hello hello!! welcome back my lovelies . I am excited to be blogging regularly again and today I am sharing the new release by Mac Nicol. If you are open minded and would like to check out this book. There is a brief description of each story below along with the links where you can purchase the book 🙂

Release Blitz title

Three delightful short stories about how love begins in the most unexpected ways.

Meet Elliot and Dan in ‘Benchpressed’

City planner Elliot meets personal trainer Dan and between them, they whip the gym into shape…

“I happen to think you have a very nice belly,” Dan murmured. “It makes a change from the usual devotion to keeping a six pack.” His tone went dreamy. “I like a man with a bit of meat on him.”
Oh, fuck me. That sounded a bit awkward, even to me. My body flushed with heat and I cleared my throat.

Meet Davey and Gus in ‘Dear Davey’

Agony Aunt columnist Davey has an unfortunate habit of causing mayhem for fellow worker Gus. He also has no filter. Remind you of someone?

“Oh, and I’m sorry I set fire to your waste bin yesterday,” I muttered.
“Who else would it have been?” he said. “Do I need to take out company hazard pay when I go out with you?”
I huffed, flicking my hair back from my forehead. “Puhleaze. It’d be worth every penny, I promise.”
Behind me, Gus’s cologne invaded my nostrils and I closed my eyes, inhaling his scent.

Meet Cooper and Robbie in ‘Banana Appeal’

An errant gecko brings Graphic artist Cooper and neighbour Robbie together. Warning- there may also be a banana involved.

I took a step forward, brandishing the banana toward him as if entreating him to eat it. Robbie took a step back, a wary look crossing his face. I wondered whether he’d expected me to ask him to fellate it. Because that would have been a complete waste when my dick was willing to be wrapped between those full lips. The banana didn’t stand a fucking chance if I got in there first.

HIT or MISS for the High end products??

So lately I have been a bit of a bad blogger and I haven’t been posting much at all, however I have still been testing out new products, reading books , watching shows and films etc, so I will be writing up all my reviews and posting them over the next few weeks. I don’t know what has gotten in to me the past few months but I have been in a total funk.. I have wanted to blog and start vlogging but the motivation and energy just hasn’t been there, which sucks because I know I won’t grow unless I put the effort in.

Anyway, today I wanted to share with you, my first impressions of some of what I would class as higher end products that I received from Love me Beauty and Latest in Beauty

I will link all the full sized products below in case you are interested, I will link UK and US sites where possible.

First up we have the Make up forever Ultra HD loose powder. As I said before mine was only a sample so I didn’t get a whole lot of product but it was enough to test out and see what I thought. It applied really well and it definitely set my makeup in place. My makeup lasted all day and looked flawless.

The full size tub retails for £24.50  on Escentual or $36.00 USD directly from the Makeup Forever website. In the full size tub you do only receive 8.5g of product, which I personally think is a very small amount considering the price point.

Personally, I wouldn’t go out and purchase this myself as I do think there are cheaper powders out there such as the RCMA no colour powder that do the job just as well.

Next up we have the Bare Minerals  BareSkin Serum foundation with SPF20. I got my sample in the colour

Now this foundation did not agree with my skin at all on the first attempt. It applied very streaky, didn’t blend out properly and left my skin very patchy. I thought maybe it was the fact that I used Nanoblur underneath.  Nanoblur just did not agree with my skin at all so I decided to give the foundation a second try as I had enough left in the tub.

Second time around I feel that it did apply a little bit better. I do still feel that it may be a bit too liquidy (not a real word) for me.  It looked a bit streaky and didn’t blend as well as my other foundations. I will say that when I did eventually blend it in it sat really nicely on my skin and is definitely buildable.

The Bareskin Serum Foundation retails for £27.00 in the Bare Minerals website and $29.50 on Sephora.

One thing I will say is that Bare Minerals have a 20 different shades to choose from, which I think is amazing because I see so many brands that only have 4/5 shades, which means you have to get two shades and mix them if you want to use that particular brand. Either that, or you walk around with a face that doesn’t match your neck ( which I see so often).

I feel that I may need to try this again with different primers underneath to see what works , if anything as it did work better the second time around. This may be one I have to work with a bit more.

Now, moving on to Nanoblur. As you can get this from Boots I wouldn’t really class this as high end but you do pay £19.99 for 30ml of product, which is pretty steep in my eyes. Although I guess it would depend on how much quickly you get through the product and how often you have to re-purchase it. It is supposed to give the skin a smoothing effect as if you are air brushed and sits under powder makeup or over the top of your base.

I was quite shocked to find that for the US you can only purchase it on and the price is ridiculously high at $42.70.

In my opinion it is not worth the price because it just didn’t work on me. If you can try before you buy I would higly recommend that as you don’t want to go spending that amount of money unless you know you like the product.  I tried it underneath and over the top of my makeup and it just left my skin feeling sticky .

Finally we have the Nude ProGenius face Treatment Oil. This is supposed absorb for deep hydration and to smooth the skin.

Now , it is a good job I was sitting down whilst searching for the full size product because this beast comes in at a whopping £58.00 for 30ml.. Yes.. you read that right! I couldn’t find anywhere where you could buy this in the US but on Sephora you can get other NUDE Skincare products and they currently range from $54.60 (reduced from $78.00) to $61.60 (reduced from $88.00). I don’t know if the Sephora prices are a permanent price or if it is just a sale.

For me, again, this one was a bit of a fail. I do get really dry skin on my chin and cheeks so they are the only places I put it as I get a very oil T-zone and I don’t need more oil on there but I just found that it didn’t sink in to my skin all that well. It kind of sat on the top for a while and made my skin feel a bit greasy. It left a bit of a greasy residue over the top of my skin. I have never used a face oil before so this is a trial and error situation for me. Maybe Oils in general are not suitable for me or maybe it is just this one. I won’t know unless I try more products but for now this is a no go for me.

I do also feel that the price point for this is epic! and if I do a little bit more research I could probably find a drugstore or lower end product that would give the same results they claim to provide.

Disclaimer: I hate having to put this but I have to say this is not a sponsored post. I bought the subscription boxes these came in and my opinions are my own. I also wanted to say I am not throwing shade at these brands. I am just stating my honest opinions and letting you know how they worked for me and on my skin.

Dealspotr. What is it and how does it work?

Hey Guys,

Welcome back! I hope you have all had a great month so far. So today is a slightly different type of review!. Today I will be reviewing a website called Dealspotr.

I love a good bargain and I am slowly turning in to a coupon lady but gone are the days where you cut coupons out of magazines and take them in to the shop. Nowadays, as most things are, it is all done online.

How it works

You have to sign up but it really isn’t difficult or time consuming to do. You can choose what topics you prefer, such as food, beauty, DIY and crafts etc (maximum 4 topics) and as you can do on a lot of influence platforms, you can link to all your social media accounts.

To start with you have a chance to gain quite a few points. You gain points for linking to and confirming your blog by adding a badge and you receive a points for the first list of tasks you complete. Each day after this,  you have a set amount of tasks to complete. If all daily tasks are completed you are given 200 points. Once you have reached 10,00 points for the first time this entitles you to a $10 Amazon gift card. Once this has been claimed the target changes to 20,000 in order to gain your next Gift Card.

On your profile you have a dashboard Where you can view all your notifications, actions taken and what points you received for each action. There is also a progression bar, which shows you how close you are to receiving your next Amazon voucher.

There are so many tools available to help you including an forums where you can interact with other influences, find answers to questions you have and share your favourite deals.

There are different influencer levels and full details of what is required for each level is listed under the “influencer tools” section of your account so you can always see what you have completed and what is left to complete to reach each level.

How it differs from other sites

As I have said I like to find good deals and when I search on google for coupons I always find that I am sent to expired deals, or those websites that clearly just get paid for the amount of traffic that goes through the site, the coupons don’t work or take you to a spam site.  It gets tiring after a while and I used to just give up on trying to find good deals, whereas now I log on to one site and I can just search on a trusted site.

  • Easy to navigate the website
  • great incentive – with a bit of effort you can make a decent amount of extra cash from it.
  • You can follow people who have posted deals you trust and have validated.
  • You can share deals across all social media platforms.
  • I haven’t come across a deal that doesn’t work yet or has expired before the date advised.
  • You don’t have to be the highest level influencer to Receive the best deals.

  • It is all in dollars – can only use the Gift Cards on
  • Can be difficult to find UK deals
  • Cannot withdraw funds to PayPal until you are a Trusted Influencer.
  • If your deal isn’t accurate you lose marks (anything below -20 means you can no longer post deals or validate others)
  • Not as many UK deals.

Overall I think Dealspotr is a great idea. If you are the type of person who has the patience to go looking for good deals and great ways to save money this a great site that has a wide range of products at your finger tips. All you have to do is sit down and take the time to look.

As a person who posts deals I do think the validation process is quite harsh  at times if I am honest. You do get told why your deal has lost points when your deal is being validated, however, personally I think if the deal works those points shouldn’t be taken off you.  For example, I lost accuracy points because of a typo ( I wrote os instead of is on one of my deals) and on the other it stated I had omitted some information, however when checking the deal I couldn’t find any information that had been omitted. You do need to ensure you thoroughly check your deals before submitting them to avoid losing these points.

In my cons section I did put that there weren’t many UK deals, which is true but I do feel the more this is advertised in the UK and the more influencers we can get using this website, the bigger and better it will become for providing deals in the UK. The reason why this is a con for me is because so many companies either don’t ship to the UK or charge high shipping prices to do so. In addition the likelihood is you will be hit with a big customs charge on top of shipping when it arrives in the UK, which defeats the object of having a deal 🙂

I would always recommend you do fully read the rules and guidelines. I know that this can be tedious and nobody likes rules but I do feel this is hugely important to ensure that you can get the best out of the website. They are easy to read and follow so just take the time to read them.

You do have to spend a bit of time adding your deals but it is worth it because at the end of the day you are getting paid to share your deals and Dealspotr is the only website that offers this to their members.

What sites do you use to get great deals and coupons??

Will you be going to check out Dealspotr?

Netflix originals seem to be popping up left, right and centre and I AM LOVING IT!!

The newest show I have come across is Expanse. A Sci-fi, fantasy series set hundreds of years in the future. (Yes I am a geek).

Again with this series I have to mention the team behind the scenes, the unspoken heroes of films and television. All the ingredients, mixed together in the right way like a perfect sponge cake. The Special effects, the way it is directed, the selection of the actors to play each character all mesh well together to make Expanse one of THE top shows to watch in my humble opinion.

The shows is actually based on a series of novels by James S. A. Corey. I haven’t read the books but I have definitely added this to my ever growing list of books I want to read. 2017 is going to be a busy bookish year.

In the future Mars has been colonised and the Martians (who actually look human..which is confusing) have an uneasy peace treaty  with Earth. Stuck in between, living in poverty, are “The Belters” that live on  the asteroid belt of Ceres.

There are three main characters. Detective Miller(Thomas Jane), a born and bred belter is employed by a security service which acts as type of police force on the belt. Miller is given a case of a missing wealthy “Earther”  called Julie Mao (Florence Faivre)by his captain and told it is an off-the-book assignment, which straight away triggered my suspicious mind. Chrisjen (Shohreh Aghdashloo), a United Nations executive is called in to try and keep the peace between Earth and Mars when ships start getting blown up by an unknown third part that seem to have high quality stealth teach. To keep things simple I call the “The Unknowns” for now.

Then there is James Holden (Steven Strait), an officer on an Ice trawler called The Canterbury. The Canterbury receives a distress call from an abandoned ship so James takes a small team of four out to try and search for the survivor. When the board the ship they realise it was a trap and scramble to get off the vessel, however they are too late, The Canterbury is blown up and they are left to fend for themselves. His team is made up of four totally different personalities, which makes it even more interesting to watch. They all seem to have their own secrets that unfold as the episodes progress.

The team no nothing about each other really, although there is some connection between Naomi and Amos  that is never fully explained.

We have:

Alex (Cas Anvar)- the pilot. A laid back character

Naomi (Dominique Tipper)- The engineer. She is probably the more level headed person in the group and grounds them when they need it.

Amos (Wes Chatham)- The mechanic. Now he is very intersting. A wild card. He is loyal to Naomi and only seems to listen to her.

Shed (Paulo Costanzo)- The medic. A young man with a very nervous disposition. Doesn’t handle difficult situations well.

If that wasn’t enough for you .. We get to see Jared Harris playing Anderson Dawes, leader of a rebel group called OPA

I won’t say anymore because I feel that it will give too much away but I cannot recommend this enough.

The only thing I don’t really like is the accent of The Belters.. I can’t say why…I can’t put my finger on it…. it is just a very strange accent. But that is a TINY criticism in an otherwise amazing creation.

You may have guessed.. This show gets a 5 out of 5.

Roll on season 2….out in February 2017.

I binged watched this over three evenings.. I couldn’t stop watching it

Let me know what you think

REVIEW: Black Mirror

I started watching Black Mirror not really knowing what to expect as I had never even heard of it before, but I can tell you now it is not for the feint hearted. It is not your typical Netflix show. Each episode has a different cast, they do not follow on from one another.

this is definitely not something I would normally pick but it once I started watching it I was very intrigued and had to watch the other episodes.

Black Mirror is a British Television anthology series created by Charlie Brooker . It is speculative fiction that examines today’s society with regards to the technology we use and the consequences of new technologies. It is very dark and at times i did find myself cringing at the thought of some of the concepts. I also realised that it is possible, given the advancement in technology so far that we are probably not far off these kinds of things happening, which is pretty scary but also very interesting. Maybe it is me and my paranoid brain but I definitely feel like these situations that arise in each episode could happen in the future!

I am not going to go in to detail about every episode as that would take forever and I feel like you need to watch them yourself to really get a feel for the lessons I think the creator is trying to teach us but I will briefly tell you about a few that stood out for me.

The first episode in Season 1 definitely hits you hard. Do you know when you watch a horror film and you don’t want to watch it but you look through your fingers and see it all anyway?? Well I found myself turning away from the screen at one point but still looking out of the corner of my eye. It wasn’t scary, just not something you would ever really want to see happen in real life. The thought of it makes me cringe. This episode is about a princess that is kidnapped and the Prime Minister has to fulfill a certain task by 4pm, live in front of the nation or the princess would be killed.

Season 1 episode 3 is one i actually really enjoyed watching. In the near future everyone has access to a memory implant, which records everything a person sees, hears and does. It shows the benefits and the pitfalls of having such technology and how it could potentially affect lives. I actually think that this is something I would want.. I may sound weird but even though it can cause conflict ( as you see in the episode) I think it could also help if used properly.

Season 3 episode 1. Now this episode is interesting. It is about a society where you rise or fall as a direct result of the ratings people give you on how you act or what you upload on to your social media account. Now I know that this is hugely exaggerated, however I do feel that people these definitely rate themselves based on how many likes their photos get or how many friends they have on social media. I also believe that people act a certain way in order to gain likes and accolades off people they don’t no rather than appreciating the people they have that are close to them and actually care about them and know them as people.

This episode really made me think about social media today and how I definitely see things similar to this on a daily basis. Some people are that desperate for likes and comments that they post ridiculous things just or attention and go to great lengths to be noticed.

Although some of the episodes do make you think. Some of them are also quite cringey and a bit weird for my taste. I understand what the creator was trying to do but I think some of it was a bit far fetched,

Overall Black Mirror gets a 3 out of 5.

Barry Marvelous Nail Fanatic..When does it become an obsession… :)

I am not a really girly girl but I  do love doing my nails. For years I used cheap market stall nail varnish. I then tried some of the more expensive products but I could never find nail varnish that would last and wouldn’t crack or peel off.

Until I found Barry M tucked away on the end of an isle in Boots. The price was just right, there was a wide range of colours available and they had different types from Gelly to Matt to Glitter. I honestly cannot fault the products at all.

I tried the Sally Hansen base coat that I was charged about £8 for but it peeled off after a day or two but if I use the Base coat, top coat and Nail hardener from Barry M I know that I will get a good week if not more without any cracking.

I have listed a few of my favourites below

Matt Collection

Crush 337

Gelly Collection

Blueberry 531

Plum 321

If you are looking for quality nail polish at affordable prices i would definitely recommend Barry M. The basic collections sell at around £2.99 per unit and the most i have ever paid was £4.99 for one of the Sunset Daylight Curing Gel Polishes.

Boots do a 3 for 2 offer on most if not all the Barry M Cosmetics, which I love. And Currently on the official Barry M Website they are offering free delivery on orders over £15.. how can you say no ????

I have recently started purchasing other cosmetics such as their eyeshadow palettes and Lipstick. Again i cannot fault the quality of any of them….

The only down side is that they do not have a wide range of colours in the face section like other cosmetic brands but this does not put me off. For me it is more about the quality of the product.

Go to to check out the range of products available.

I don’t have many vices but Barry M certainly is one of them.

Barry M gets a huge thumbs up and a 5 out of 5 from me
